Real estate industry bodies and thought leadership
John has continued to be very active in his role on the UK executive committee of the Urban Land Institute and on the Indirect Investment Committee and Solvency II working party of the Investment Property Forum. He is chairman of judging panel for the IP Real Estate global awards.
He has spoken at a number of important real estate conferences and seminars, including:
• Presenting a paper, "The pressure for global corporate governance standards for the real estate investment management industry" to the RICS and SPR "Cutting Edge" Conference 2013 (details here):
• Speaking at the annual INREV Investors and Managers seminar in 2013 (details here);
• Presenting on regulatory change at the PERE Finance and Compliance Forum 2013, the PERE European Summit 2014 and a number of other seminars;
• Presenting at the AREF/IPF seminar in May revisiting the report that John wrote for AREF in 2012, "Unlisted funds, lessons from the crisis".(details here);
John has also spoken at the BPF and CREFC regulatory committees and has been involved in lobbying on a number of issues..
