The UK Financial Conduct Authority published its latest news on its progress on AIFMD implementation on 29th August 2013.

The most important point is that the FCA is suggesting that for those managers who are eligible to benefit from the one year transition period, applications for authorisation to operate as an AIFM should be submitted 6 months before the deadline for authorisation of 22 July 2014, ie 22 Januarynext year.  Applications that are not submitted in a complete and final state by 22 April 2014 may not be dealt with by the authorisation deadline.
